Reflexology
Feel
restored
The beauty of reflexology is that it not only feels
wonderful, it also has some amazing therapeutic benefits.
People come to reflexology for a variety of different
reasons. Maybe you’re suffering from a painful condition,
such as a bad back, constant migraines, or insomnia.
It’s
true that reflexology is renowned for its ability to
stimulate the body’s own natural healing mechanisms.
Reflexology is a holistic treatment - so rather than dealing
with the prevailing symptoms, we always consider you as a
whole person – physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Reflexology
has been shown to be effective for: ·
Stress related conditions
·
Back pain ·
Migraine ·
Fertility ·
Arthritis ·
Sleep disorders ·
Hormonal imbalances ·
Digestive disorders
However,
you don’t have to be ill to benefit from a treatment – it’s
an effective form of preventative maintenance that can be
enjoyed purely for its relaxation and wellbeing benefits.
What
happens during a reflexology treatment?
Reflexology
is based on the principle that the feet and hands are
‘mini-maps’ of the body and its organs. By applying
acupressure and massage-like techniques to these reflex
points, the related body parts are positively affected.
On
your first visit we will complete some simple but vital
forms to determine your past and present health and
lifestyle. Of course, any information you give is
confidential, it just ensures that your session can then be
tailored to meet your needs.
Once we know a bit about you, you’ll lie down on a
massage couch and we will cleanse and perform some
relaxation movements on your feet before starting your
treatment. We use our hands to apply pressure to your feet
in a concise and systematic way which enables us to detect
subtle changes in specific points on the feet. By working on
these points we aim to affect the corresponding organ or
system of the body. To complete the session you will be
given aftercare advice which will help to lengthen the
benefits of your treatment and a course of treatment may be
recommended, depending on your body’s needs.
So
how does reflexology work?
We wish we could give you a definitive answer. There are
many theories out there, some are based on meridian lines
and energy pathways similar to those used in acupuncture,
others explain how reflexology invigorates the blood, nerve
and lymphatic systems, which in itself, can have positive
health benefits. One thing’s for sure - it gets results for
many people.

on your hands, hand reflexology is great for those who don't
